Importing Capital One statements into QuickBooks
Export your Capital One transactions and convert them into a file QuickBooks accepts — without uploading your bank data anywhere.
Steps
- Log in to Capital One online banking and open the account.
- Download your activity for the date range you need. Choose a spreadsheet export — CSV or Excel. (PDF statements work too.)
- Open the free converter and drop the file in. It auto-detects the columns.
- Download a .QBO for QuickBooks Desktop, or a CSV for QuickBooks Online, and import it.
Need older history? Capital One, like most banks, lets you pick a custom date range — useful because QuickBooks feeds usually only reach back about 90 days. Only have PDFs? See convert a PDF statement.
Ledgerfeed is an independent tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Capital One or Intuit. Steps vary slightly as banks update their websites; look for a "Download" or "Export" option on the account activity screen.
FAQ
Does Ledgerfeed connect to my Capital One account?
No. You download the file from Capital One yourself; Ledgerfeed only reads that file locally in your browser. It never sees your banking login.
Which export should I choose?
A CSV or Excel export is ideal. A text-based PDF statement also works. Avoid scanned image PDFs.
